The walk
Begin your pilgrimage in the vibrant maritime city of Vigo, collecting your first Camino stamp before setting off towards Santiago. Leaving the city behind, the route climbs gently through peaceful woodland and quiet suburban lanes, rewarding you with panoramic views over the Ría de Vigo. The Camino then descends through eucalyptus forests and rural Galician countryside, passing traditional villages and centuries-old wayside crosses before reaching the historic town of Redondela, where the Portuguese Coastal Way joins the Central Portuguese Camino. An enjoyable introduction.
